FanExpo Canada 2014

I have always heard about Cosplay, Fandom, Gamers Craze but I finally got to witness it this year at Fan Expo Canada 2014. Fan Expo is one of the largest fan-loved event where a fan can leave their day to day busy life and get sucked into a world where they can be their favorite characters or their own characters or bring their imagination to life by building bat mobiles or other surreal things. This event is where comics, horror, anime, gaming, sci-fi, you name it, meets and builds a surreal dimension, making it a huge successful event. In the event you can experience: meet and greets and panels with celebrity guests, gaming tournaments, airbrushing, live sketching and painting, speed dating and so much more. My favorite is the Cosplay. Seeing the time invested in the surreal costumes and gadgets is breathtaking. I also loved seeing all the art and the artists. I will list some of artists that caught my attention and I spotted out at the event. There is also limited edition goodies for die heart fans. Fan expo was such a great experience that I am planning to get a booth for myself next year. Here are some of the pictures I took from my iPod (hence the awesome quality). Do check it out, its definitely a great experience.

"To a new beginning"

Aspen, Colorado
by: Shirsha Basu

This photograph is symbolic for me because it represents the beginning of a new path. I’m in a point in life where I’m beginning a new academic career for myself, and stepping forward to reach my goals. With each step I take on this journey, I feel that I am a little closer to my dreams, as if I am looking up to the top of a mountain that, one day, I will be able to climb. I think this picture really captures that stage in life in a beautiful way, because it shows the long way forward, and the struggles I will have to face, in order to reach a beautiful destination.
